T.E.S Power Supply
The new low environmental impact solar panel power supply mod. T.E.S.
Installed the new low environmental impact solar panel power supply mod. T.E.S. at Brennero (BZ) in November 2014.
The cathodic protection system was installed to protect a gas transport pipeline running parallel to the Italy-Austria railway network.
The cathodic protection system consists of n. 2 magnesium anodes (disperser) n. 1 T.E.S. power supply n. 1 dielectric line joint to separate the piping on the Italian side and the Austrian side.
The choice of T.E.S. was made for the following reasons:
Low environmental impact
(installed in the center of the town of Brennero on the Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage site)
- Lack of 220V ac ENEL power supply
- Presence of stray currents on the pipeline, both direct and alternating due to the presence of the two railway substations, one Italian with direct current and one Austrian with alternating current
- Impossibility of making a traditional vertical disperser due to the presence of the ground with high electrical and mechanical resistance
